He saw through it, and the dive still fell apart.

My ADC was very low under our tower when this started, and I began the clip as Zac, our jungler. Two or three seconds in I switched to Kog’Maw so there would be two of him standing there. My health wasn’t full, about half, but it was a lot healthier than his, which is the point of the swap: with two Kog’Maws under the tower, it’s hard to say which one is the real, nearly dead one.

By the four or five second mark Hecarim had built up his speed and was ready for the dive. He knew I was the fake Kog’Maw by then, because of the pressure on us and how many times I’d just switched. He came in anyway, with Smolder, their ADC, behind him. Around seven or eight seconds I snared him directly under the tower. Smolder spent his attention hitting me instead of fully committing to the dive, so Hecarim was diving into a fight he wasn’t getting help in. His Ignite came after my snare ended, around the ten second mark, and it forced Kog’Maw to Flash. We still took Hecarim out, and Kog’Maw and I both lived.

The disguise didn’t fool Hecarim, not in the general sense. It was enough confusion and distraction that Smolder couldn’t see the clear dive Hecarim probably saw, and that was the difference. We won the game.
