The pact

What the wards see. Pages viewed, clips played and finished, links clicked, the pause button getting used. Each visitor becomes a random code that changes every day, week, and month; when the code changes, the old one is destroyed. That is the whole trick: I can count you, but I can never name you.

What the wards never collect. No cookies. No accounts. No IP addresses kept. No fingerprinting. No ad tech, no third parties, nothing sold, nothing shared. If your browser sends "do not track me" signals, this site counts your visit for the day and forgets even the daily code.

Field notes are a different kind of thing. The comment box on a tale page is not telemetry, it is volunteered, durable content: a name and a note, plus your GitHub username if you chose to sign in. I read every one before it goes live, and I will remove yours on request. It stays unlinked from the wards above: the abuse check on a field note reuses the same rotating, day-expiring hash the wards use, never a join key back to who left it.

Why publish this page at all. Because a site about vision should show its own map. And because if you spot me doing anything shadier than a ward in a bush, I want you to be able to call it.
